Increase of the total permissible load of mixers for concrete with 4 axes from 32t to 36t
On September 19, 2017, in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, in conjunction with The Business association of Concrete producers of Serbia “BIS”, a meeting was held on the theme "Sustainable transport of fresh concrete - Austria's experience in adjusting the total allowed load of concrete mixers with 4 axles".
The Executive Director of the Association of Fresh Concrete Industries (Güteverband Transportbeton), Mr. Christoph Ressler, informed the attendees on the changes in the Low on Motor Vehicles in the Republic of Austria from 2015, as an example of good EU practice in adjusting the total allowed load of mixers for concrete with 4 axles from 32t to 36t.
The purpose of the meeting was to point out the key issue of the regulations that edit the technical conditions for vehicles in road traffic and their impact on the sustainability of the concrete industry in Serbia, its production-transport chain, as well as its impact on the environment.
The Business association of Concrete producers of Serbia “BIS”, with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, will initiate a regulatory amendments that will determine the limit values for the total mass of mixers for concrete with 4 axles, whose adoption would have positive effects, both on the business of concrete and domestic construction operators, as well as on reducing traffic density and reducing CO2 emissions.
